If not, why not? A customer is the heart of your business. They are what you are working so hard for in the first place. Customer service in all aspects is lacking and that is what I want to talk about today.

Stay in contact with customers on a regular basis. Offerthem something free. Ask them if they would like to be updated by e-mail when you make changes to your Web site or when you have a new product to offer. (the easiest way to do this is to have an RSS feed, don't know what that is? I will discuss this in an upcoming article) After every sale, follow-up with the customer to see if they are satisfied with their purchase.
Create a customer focus group. Invite ten to twenty ofyour most loyal customers to meet with you regularly and get their input as to what you are doing great, what they would like to see more of and yes, even the bad stuff. They will giveyou ideas and input on how to improve your customerservice. To make this special, you could reward them for their time, give them a product or take them to dinner. After all, they are like your personal marketing group and in then end will make your business bettr.
Make it easy for your customers to navigate your web site, after all, if they can't find what you are offering, how can they purchase from you? Have a "FAQ" page to explain anything that might confuse your customers. Have a Survey page to find out how make your website more customer friendly, again, this is a great tool that can be so inexpensive yet very rewarding.
Stay on top of your customers complaints quickly and ensure their satisfaction in a timely manner so your good name will be spread in a postive light to all their friends. Answer all e-mail and phone calls within an hour, if possible, you the owner of the business, personally take care of the problem. This will show your customersyou really care about them. Remember the old adage? If you provide good service, a few will hear about it. If you provid BAD service, Everyone will know about it.
Ensure that it easy for your customers to contact you. Offer as many contact methods as possible. Allow customers to contact you by e-mail, making sure you are scrambling the email so you getting only legitimate emails, and also provide a phone number or a fax number in case someone wants to physically speak to you. It is probably a good idea to also give your office hours and don't forget the time zone...
Make sure that if you have employees, that they know and use your customer service policies as well. Give your employees bonuses or incentives to practice excellent customer service. Tell employees to be flexible with each individual customer, and give them some leaway in how each customer needs to be dealt with. If you are willing to compensate a customer, give the authority so it can be done on the spot at the discretion of the employee. This way, a customer will be happy immediately without having to wait for your OK on everything.
Make it a policy to give your customers more than they expect. Send thankyou gifts to lifetime customers, can you imagine even getting a thank you card from someone you purchased from? I know I would be shocked, yet this is a really great practice. E-mail them online greetingcards on holidays or birthdays. Award bonuses to your customers who make a big or repeat purchase.
Always be polite to your customers. Use the words "you're welcome, please, and thank you." Be polite to your customers even if they are irate with you, "kill them with kindness" no matter how much it hurts. This is called "live recovery" and in the end, will benefit you. Always apologize to your customers should you make a mistake. If you admit your mistakes quickly and make it up to them in a big way they will remember you.
Try to figure out a reward program. You have heard of air miles etc? Reward customers a point for every one dollar they spend. Let's say customers can get a free product for 300 points. That means customers will spend $300 dollars on your products and services to get enough points to get the product. Make sure it is a product with a value, that it is desirable. If you need to have a program that keeps track of these type of things, you should have your hosting with "Thirdsphere" There is an inbuilt Affiliate program for rewarding both affiliates and keeping track of customers.
Build strong relationships with your customers. Invite them to company meetings, luncheons, workshops or seminars. This helps to keep them in the loop and creates a personal bond with them. Special events such as parties or weekend get togethers or just a night out on the town help to make each of your customers feel important. If you are working a direct sales company, think about a customer appreciation night. Plan a fondue or a pampering party. Let your imagination go wild!

Where can you find Public Domain Products? There are lots of public domain repositories online, the best known being Project Gutenberg. Surprisingly, many of these sellers don’t know the value of what they are selling, so it is quite possible to resell them at a profit. Of course, if you find a product from any of these sources, it is essential to perform a copyright search to ensure it really is in the public domain. You are reasonably safe with products published in USA before 1923, but US copyright law is extremely complicated, and you are better safe than sorry. You can hire an attorney to do the search for you, or a cheaper option is to make direct contact with the Copyright Office in Washington DC. Once you have found a product you are certain is in the public domain, first of all make changes to it and copyright it yourself! This way nobody else will be able to use it. For instance, in the case of a book, change the title, add illustrations, update out-of-date spellings and grammar. Then either photocopy the book and give it a spiral binding, or scan the pages to text format and flowback into a Word document, to sell in printed or digital form using pdf.
So how can you make money using Public Domain Products? Many people have made an excellent living selling them on eBay, even if they bought them there in the first place! One person sells many copies, each month, of CDs of Victorian knitting, crochet and craftwork patterns, which she first found on eBay! Another found an illustrated dog book from 1880, covering lots of different breeds, and republished each breed section separately. This has proved an extremely popular seller on eBay.
There are many kinds of books where you can do the same! Don’t forget that “public domain” doesn’t just include books. One person found an old photograph from 1880 which she re-created as a print, a poster, a fridge magnet and other products to sell on eBay. Another created a range of jewelry out of illustrations from an early geographical magazine. And there are music sites from which you can download public domain music to put on CD or MP3! Once you realize the potential of the public domain, youwon’t know where to start!

The first thing I noticed when I opened up the first video was the stunning production quality.
He used Camtasia Studio for the production, which is now the industry standard for creating high-quality screen capture video products. The audio is near studio quality, and the graphics are very professional. These videos were made by someone who KNOWS what he's doing. Well done!

I also liked how Michael divided the videos up by section, and then again by sub-section. For example, one video is all about the subject line, and then there are different parts of that video that each cover a certain area of crafting a killer subject line.

VIDEO 1 - INTRODUCTION

This video served as an introduction to the whole course. You get to see a picture of Michael in his every day life, and he establishes his credibility right up front by talking about some of his massive successes online. He even provides proof of credibility by displaying two checks in the amount of $50,000 and $25,000 which prove that, when it comes to the subject of making money with email promos, he knows his stuff.

This is a good lesson for anyone to get. Whenever you're teaching people how to do something, it's good to establish your credibility up front, so that there's no doubt about whether or not you're qualified to talk about the subject. Most product developers either skip or minimize this step.

VIDEO 2 - BEFORE YOU WRITE THE PROMO

This video talks about some things that no other marketer has bothered to mention.
You'll learn things like:

* The mindset you need in order to write a killer promo

* The different tools you need before you get started

* How to keep your emails laser-focused

* How to create an outline that practically writes the email for you.

This was a fantastic video, and did a good job of kicking things off.

VIDEO 3 - THE SUBJECT LINE

I liked this video, because it talked about one of MY biggest weaknesses when it comes to writing email promos... the subject line. The subject line is a confusing topic, because nobody's 100% sure what the best tactics are.

Michael breaks it down, and reveals:

* The biggest secret for writing a subject line that makes people insanely curious.

* Techniques for personalizing the subject line.

* Mistakes to avoid when using personalization.

I was surprised to find that I was making some of the mistakes that Michael mentioned in this video, but now I know better.

VIDEO 4 - THE OPENING

This is where a lot of people slack off when writing their emails. Michael talks about how important it is to create an opening that is conversational, and then reveals techniques and examples on how to do that.

He also reveals:

* How to get people to keep reading your email once they've opened it.

* How to make your opening interesting.

* Mistakes to avoid when creating your first few paragraphs.

VIDEO 5 - THE BODY COPY

This is one of the "meatiest" portions of the course, because it reveals techniques that are not widely discussed on the forums, blogs, and in most eBooks. He talks about the importance of keeping your body copy tight and relevant, and then reveals how you can do that.
You'll also learn:

* How to write powerful bullets that make people curious and want to find out more.

* Simple formatting tricks for making your body copy easy to read.

* The secret of "bucket brigade copy" and how to use it in your email promos to force people to keep reading.

VIDEO 6 - THE CALL TO ACTION

This is where a lot of people wimp out in their email promos. They start out strong, but when it comes time to ask the reader to click the link and take action, they don't know what to say.

VIDEO 8 - COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE

I loved this video, because it showed me some mistakes that I was making that I wasn't even aware of. Unless you're a seasoned pro, you're probably guilty of some of the things that Michael talks about in this video as well, and that's why it's so valuable. I've shaved years off my learning curve, because now I can avoid some of the costly mistakes that I was bound to make in the learning process.

VIDEO 9 - HOW TO CREATE FOLLOW-UP EMAIL PROMOTIONS

This video alone is going to make me a lot of money. Why? Because I used to only send out one email promo for each affiliate promotion I was doing. Michael showed me in this video how important it is to send a follow-up promotion, and he showed me exactly how to do it.
He covered things like:

* The psychology of follow-up email promo's.

* The 2 main types of follow-up promos that make the most money.

* How to overcome readers' objections in your follow up emails.

* The 2 most common mistakes people make when writing follow-ups and how to avoid them.

What is a Back-end product?
A back-end product is a product you attempt to sell to your customers after they have recently purchased a related product from your business.

If you're not trying to sell back-end products to your customers, you're making a huge mistake. It is much easier to sell to your existing customers than it is to find and sell to new ones who don't trust your business yet.

Below are ten ProfitNowOnline strategies you can use to sell your back-end products to your existing customers:

1. When you ship people the first product they buy, insert a flyer or brochure for your back-end product in the package.

2. Give customers a free subscription to a customers only e-zine when they buy your product. You could include your ad for your back-end product in each issue.

3. Send your customers greeting cards on holidays or on their birthday. Include a small advertisement inside the card for your back-end product.

4. After people order your first product from your web site, take them to a "thank you" web page and include your back-end product ad on that page.

1. Trade links with other web sites. They should be related to the subject of your web site. Instead of trading links, you could also trade banner ads, half page ads, classified ads, etc. Find websites that are similar to yours, but not the competition. Email them and ask if they are interested in such a trade.

2. Start an e-zine for your web site. When people read each issue they'll be reminded to visit your web site every time you send out your ezine. They'll see your product ad more than just once which will increase your orders.(it is a fact that the human mind needs exposure 7x for something to sink in; repetition is the key) Give them great content,lots of info and freebies, so that people will be likely to stick around because of what you are teaching.

3. Form or Join an online community. It could be an online message board, e-mail discussion list or chat room. When people get involved in your community they will regularly return to communicate with others. A word of warning though, make sure you are writing good pertinent content or you could get the owners/moderators angry with you and get yourself banned.

4. Write articles and submit them to e-zines, web sites and magazines that accept article submissions. Include your business information and web address at the end of the article. If you copy content from internet sources, be sure to credit the original poster so that the search engines don’t think you have plagiarized.

5. Give away an electronic freebie with your ad or re-branded information on it. Allow your visitors to also give the freebie away, keeping your information also intact. This'll increase your ad exposure and attract people to your web site at the same time.

6. Combine your products or services into one big package deal with other businesses offerings. You could share a web site and advertise the package deal which means double the traffic.

7. Submit your freebie to the online directories that list your particular item or service for free. If you're offering a free e-zine, submit it to all the free e-zine
directories on the internet.

8. Participate on message boards. Post answers to other people's questions, ask questions and post appropriate information. Include your signature file at the end of all your postings. Again, make sure your postings are relevant and you don’t upset the moderators.

9. Exchange classified or sponsor ads with other free e-zine publishers. If there is a huge subscriber difference between e-zines, one can run more ads to make up for it.

10. Post your ad on free advertising areas on the internet. You can post it on free classified ad sites, free for all links sites, newsgroups that allow ads, free yellow page directories, etc. Warning about FFA though, you will get a huge amount of email from this and we suggest you get yourself an email account on another server (gmail is good if you have someone who can refer you) that you can ignore if you need to.
